True love knows no gender. This being said, It is my belief that governmental laws should be separate from religious views. That's why the founding fathers enacted the separation of Church and State. The government has to make rules for all people. Not all people are religious. It is unfair that I cannot provide the same things for my partner of 26 years that most married couples enjoy, mainly medical (ie: putting her on my insurance) and the tax benefits. I do not feel this is too much to ask.

I don't think same sex marriage should be allowed, and mandated, and rewarded by our government. The current laws, show respect to the core of our societies values, at least for now. Homosexuals, just want to be validated by the society, to be told, "its ok that you do what you do", but it isn't ok. It sure shouldn't be granted the same status and rights as a heterosexual marriage. Homosexuals, need to stop wanting approval of society. You aren't going to get it. For those that try and make it seem like a form of racial discrimination, do you realize that is so old by now, and we totally love all races, and just don't like homosexuality? You heard it here, if not before, so please stop comparing this to long ago, when race was an issue. This is not comparable, not even close, and its obvious.
One more thing, its not just President Bush that cares about the morals of our country. It is all of the Americans, we are the ones that voted.

The cap locks are very painful for one's eyes. Please tone it down a tad. That being said, no it's not right. I hope someday soon everyone will have the right to marry whom they want without government opinion being in the way. No, I highly doubt anyone here makes an exception out of themselves, so they're not different.
