They have lawyers to find legal loopholes to get out of it. Money can buy anything except immortality.

They are. Prosecution is NOT the same as conviction. Whether a similar proportion of rich people are actually found guilty is an interesting question but impossible to answer as richer people are likely to commit different crimes - they aren't many rich muggers or petty drug dealers around just the same as there aren't many poor people committing tax evasion or money laundering.

Rich people don't commit as much crime because they work for a living instead of stealing or selling drugs - most crime is acquisitive (for financial gain) either for its own sake or in order to finance a drugs habit. Rich people are more likely to embezzle, defraud, evade taxes etc etc which is more difficult to detect, requires much greater resources to put a case together and is more difficult to prove in a Court of Law. And that's before you even get into the issue of "rich people being able to afford better lawyers".

so much of the outcome depends on the players of the court. The DA and how far he wants to push it. The Judge his personal view on the matter opens avenues in the law. The attorney well versed and well paid for on his knowledge of the law. The ability of the accused to sway the jury. The jury picked to help the outcome for the defense. THE TWO BIGGEST PLAYERS ARE THE JUDGE AND DA. Having the right DA to push and push and the right Judge who plays it by the law regardless of how his day went.
