I agree with you! I think the teens get into that situation because of no supervision and the parents should be responsible for their child. I also think the government should stop paying for the children of illegal immigrants

As someone who was once an unwed, teen mom, I agree. My parents didn't pay for my baby though, her father and I did and still do. I don't know about where you live, but here you can't get any kind of welfare until you are 18. My cousin is 15 and tried. They told her she was too young. I think we should stop paying for all mothers. My dad's ex wasn't a teen mom. She was 30 with 5 kids ranging from 2-10. She was on welfare. In fact, she probably still is. In this town it isn't the teen moms, it's the grown women.

Your idea has merit. But what about the parents of teenagers that are poor and can't afford it? Teen pregnancy is a big problem but making the baby suffer for it is not the answer. But to ask parents to pay for it is probably not going to work. Most parents are working parents and are leaving thier kids unsupervised. Maybe a connection there. Unsupervised teenagers doing what they want? There are a lot of solutions out there but nothing seems to stop it from happening. Just maybe if families could be families again and not struggling to make it then the teenagers wouldn't turn to sex to pass the time.

When the parents suffer, the children pay the heftiest price.
Unfortunately, our society looks at taking care of it's own in a negative light. No- one can survive without other people. I am glad you have a good life, but you also have little perspective about how society works.
Norway provides every child- regardless of income- a monthly grant. If you are poor, you use it to supplement your income. If you are rich, you put it away, or donate it to charity.
That system seems to benefit everyone. Too bad America doesn't look at things the way Norway does.

Darn right we should. The responsible, and the hardworking always end up being the ones pulling the waggon, while the others sit and ride in it . We are constantly being subjected to the oldest trick in the book..... Emotional Blackmail. Ohhh, you can't let the innocent li'l children suffer. By golly we need to hold the producers of those children responsible. We should stop being so doggone "bleeding heart" about these situations. Take the children away from the irresponsible women who are breeding them like rabbits. If we are going to have to pay for the raising of these kids, then we ought to be entitled to call the shots as to HOW they are raised.
I'm tired of standing behind somebody at the grocery store checkout, watching them pay in "food stamps" and seeing exactly what junk is being rung up in that grocery cart, that I am paying for. What is a woman on food stamps doing buying a carton of cigarettes? I know that the cigarettes themselves are not permissible on the foodstamps. But the fact remains, if she was not buying those expensive cancer sticks, she would have that much more money to contribute to the care and welfare of those children she made the choice to have.

No, the question isn't any remember if a scientific technique could desire to be performed in a scientific workplace. because of the fact, as conservatives and libertarians like erroneously screaming the present gun "debate," prohibition does not provide up every physique from doing something. Abortion does not provide up if we make it unlawful. in certainty, it rather is nonetheless the quantity one form of beginning administration in the international. It merely takes it out of a physician's workplace, subsequently risking the lives of the mummy, baby, and the guy appearing the abortion. a great form of young ones have 2 dad and mom and are not needed. it rather is particularly not the communicate available, and it rather is beside the point to the surely legal and societal implication on the debate over abortion. ... And if any of the individuals who claimed you ought to "positioned the baby up for adoption" spent a single in an elementary adoption facility that they had not at all say something that stupid ever returned.

I really don't agree with this... Everyone makes mistakes. I was once an un-wed teen mother. Its hard enough without putting that extra stress on. My parents wouldn't have been able to pay for my pregnancy, so it was nice to have some outside help. Parents can't be responsible for everything their kids do. Its just a fact... kids are going to have sex, no matter how close you watch them. People make mistakes... no sense in punishing them even further than they already are.

That would be a good way to get kids to be more responsible, if the issue was always teenagers having babies because someone else will pay for them. Being a teenage parent just isn't that much fun.

Just think about this for a second. Teens make stupid decisions. Period. The pregnancy rate isn't likely to go down drastically anytime soon. But when they find out that their nightmare is real, and they can't support their child, would you rather have them get an abortion, or leave their baby in a dumpster somewhere, or have it get sick from malnutrition? The government actually wants babies to be healthy. Surprise surprise. How about the government find a way to get birth control pills and condoms to teens? Is that a better use of your money?

Think about it this way.
How about the baby? She or he is the one whom needs protection. And if the state will not pay, the baby will suffer. The kid will probably have a hard life anyway, why punish him for his teenage parents mistake?
