What are some ways to get to know yourself better?

Go camping alone. The best way to get to know yourself is to spend time without other people and challenge yourself. Make your own fire, cook your own meals, set up your own tent, don't freak yourself out over every sound you hear, sit on a rock and fish all day, have no one buy yourself to talk to for a whole weekend and by the end you will find out not only who you are but what your capable of.

Do a couple of hours of volunteer work each month - especially with kids if you can. I've found no better way to learn about people (including myself) than to see them around kids. Kids have a keen ability to react to subtle emotions you have and being around kids helps people to remembed how simple life really is.
