Do you think it was fair for him to order all those people killed?

By some accounts, Saddam ordered the killing of more than a million people... This may be a gross overstatement, but it is true and proven that he was directly responsible for tens of thousands of deaths.

So yes, he should have been killed, but hanging was to humanitarian, it should have been much more painful.

Fair? What kind of adjective is that? He was tried, judged and executed by the Iraqis, not the Americans.

I would have him rot in prison for the rest of his life. It would not have been as humane as executing him, but that was not our call. Just think of all the hours he would have sat there in misery.

No, this wasn't even an execution, it was a lynching by followers of Al Sadr. They killed Saddam on the first day of Eid ul-Adha on purpose to provoke Sunnis and extend sectarian violence.

In my country we do not have the death penalty.

The death penalty is abhorrent to me now that I have lived long enough to appreciate the barbaric nature of execution. There is no room in the world for that action. Now Saddam is a martyr. Great work.

I think the fair thing to do would have been to put him through something like they did on SAW 3.

Yes!
Do you think anyone would have had any qualms about executing Adolf Hitler?
It's just a shame it wasn't done before he had the chance to massacre thousands of his own people.

I don't think it was fair. For the fact that I believe that noone, even if they did the worst thing ever, should be punished like that. I just don't like the fact that people are allow to kill others, everybody has the right to live and the only way they should die is for natural causes.

No...."FAIR" would have been execution by way of small slivers at a time with a chain saw.....so he can experience it longer.

Certainly, but a head of state, which he still was to Sunnis, must be executed with dignity, not jeering.
It was bungled, and there will be a cost.
