If indeed it is 8mm that you have that is OK , but make sure it is and not 6mm,( although 6mm is rated at 45 amps).

For 9.5kW shower you will need to upgrade to a 10mm cable. I've never seen 8mm - you've probably got 6mm and this won't be big enough for the load. This sort of work should be done by a qualified electrician though. in compliance with part P of the building regs.

If you are yet to purchase the cable, then go for 10mm but 8mm is also quite fine. You need to take the advice of a local electrician after making him to insepect the entire setup...
All the best.

Yes renew in 10mm,as old cable is probably 6mm anyway. And fit a new breaker rated at 45amp and make it an rccbo breaker.

there is no such thing as 8mm cable but if you mean 6mm then no its no good for a 9.5 kw shower you need 10mm, but as this is now a notifiable job under the building regulations part P you should leave well alone

I'm in the US. I have never heard of a shower than needs electricity. Ours run on water pressure alone. What is this?
