Yeah i know go to the dr. but i have been. its a constant pain sometimes dull annoying sometimes down right painful. its about halfway down the ribcage on the right side to a little past your waist line. i cant sleep on my right side too long or it hurts when i turn i wince. I avoid wearing tight or normal fitting pants cause it hurts. dr said it may be urinary tract because after a pee test he saw traces of blood. well got my period the next day may be the reason. I know its not a syatic nerve because its not in the spot where i get them. he gave me muscle relaxers but pain still there. I dont really care for my dr he is new i just moved in the area. will take a while for another dr to be available. I did have a ultrasound on my liver and it said ihave a fatty infiltrate whatever that means. they didnt follow up with another appointment so i thought nothing of it. is this having to do with my liver? should i go to the ergent care center or just give this dr another shot.?

I had something similar to that on my left side. I had a colonoscopy, a laporoscopy surgery for possible endometriosis, and finally a belly scan (which also found fatty infiltration of the liver.) When they did the belly scan they found I had a blocked UPJ. Which meant between my kidney and bladder something was blocked, I had a robotic pyleoplasty surgery, and it turned out I had vessels crossed. It was an intensive surgery and recovery. But I am all better now, maybe you ought to see a urologist. I am not sure your age but this problem is found most in young adulthood, and symptoms can worsen with large consumptions of liquid, because the kidney can not drain quickly and becomes swollen. I never thought it was a kidney thing because my pain was always so much lower, but after finding out what was wrong, it all made sense because the blocking was lower than my kidney. The liver thing may just be your diet unless you are overweight it could be cholesterol, the doctor would then ask you to loose some weight and change to a less fatty diet. Good luck and I hope you find out what is wrong!!!! I lived with pain (on and off never knowing when to expect it or how bad it would hurt that day) for about 5 years until it got so bad all the time the doctors really started to dig.
