That question is rather subjective. And the answer you get will depend upon the age of the person you ask. For our grandparents, the most memorable moment may be the attack on Pearl Harbor. For others it will be Kennedy's assisination. While for others it will be the attacks of 9/11. Since I was not alive for the first 2, the latter is the one I find to be the most memorable.

The signing of the Declaration of Independence. I believe that this was one of the most meaningful moments in U.S. history (and a positive one too).

I WILL GIVE U THE TOP 4 MOST INFLUENTIAL(MAYBE NOT MEMORABLE) BUT SURELY INFLUENTIAL MOMENTS IN HISTORY:
1ST WOULD BE BIRTH OF THE ALL THE 3 LARGEST RELIGIONS IN THIS WORLD(CHRISTIANITY,ISLAM AND JEWS)...ALMOST EVERY THING TAKING PLACE IN THIS WORLD FOR THE PAST THOUSANDS OF YEARS AND MAYBE TILL THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT IS IN SOMEWAY DEPENDANT ON THESE RELIGIONS AND THEIR CONFLICTS...
2ND WOULD BE BIRTH OF UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...MAYBE THE BIGGEST AND MOST INFLUENTIAL SUPERPOWER IN HISTORY WAS BORN THAT DAY...
3RD,AT THE END OF 2ND WORLD WAR,WHEN JEWS OCCUPIED PALESTINE...DUE TO THAT SINGLE EVENT, ALMOST ALL THE EVENTS OF 20TH CENTURY WERE INFLUENCED...INCLUDING WARS,TERRORISM AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS...
AND FINALLY OBVIOUSLY 9/11...BEFORE 9/11 WE COULD HAVE SOMETHING LIKE WHATS HAPPENING TODAY IMAGINED BUT WE COULD NEVER SEE IT COMING...MAYBE THE NEXT DECADE MAY DEPENDANT ON THIS SINGLE EVENT...
