If the US is so bad, then why do so many people want to come here, or even have a quality of life like we have in their own country?
I've been overseas and have seen the emulation of our culture.
A lot of the worlds perception is thanks to our own apologistic leftist citizens that want to convince the world that the US is a tyrant run by a dictator Nazi, and say so everyday on the World Wide Web.
These people are a huge part of the problem.

Good god. Soccer? You actually think the reason other countries dislike us is because of soccer? Call it jealousy, if you like, but the inescapable truth is that the US takes/consumes far more than our fair share of the world's resources. I know, I know, we pay for it (though not well, in many cases), but money actually isn't the point. The point is, other countries peoples are suffering because of our unabated appetites. The whole world is beginning to suffer the impacts of global warming, as well. So far, other countries are 'way ahead of us in trying to reduce their environmental impacts, and we're all but ignoring the issue, while still spending trillions on war. You just made the statement 'One days our tomahawk missles will destroy your cities if you dont watch out...' . You seem to have no grasp of the larger issues, assuming sports and jealousy are the primary causes of opposition to the US to be found in the world. It's precisely that kind of obliviousness to reality, combined with uncontrolled aggression, that has gotten us into our current highly unpopular state.

Because everyone needs a scape goat and everyone is jealous about the greatest country on earth.
Take for example here in Mexico where bashing the USA is regular.
Is mostly done to avoid getting into the real problem and making people happy.
The immigration problem is Mexico, but is easier to claim that the big monster in the north who everyone hates is guilty. Even so-called intellectuals never want to list the real troubles, because they know they are part of the corrupt elite and want to stay that way. So, the US is the perfect scape goat.
In the long run it only hurts because people like to remain blind to their issues.

Some people don't like us because we happen to come across as arrogant pricks when people like you open their mouths. It's one thing to have pride in one's nation; it's entirely another to defend that pride vehemently even in the face of glaring faults with the nation and its people.
What might these faults be? Little things like, say, our passive acceptance of the Bush administration's use of torture, that we tout our ultra-religious nature to the extent that we believe only deeply religious people should be in office, the fact that we tend to butt into other countries and try to run them the way we run ours without caring who gets killed or maimed in the process. Oh, and the fact that most Americans are blithely unaware of just how f*ed up the rest of the world is, and probably wouldn't even care even if they did know.
You know. The small stuff. [/sarcasm]
