He's probably getting mixed signals and is unsure what to do, what you want. I would suggest that you send him an email and tell him EXACTLY where you stand.
Because in truth, we men are really quite stupid. Compared to women, we work on a much simpler level, and direct answers and such is what it takes for us to understand.
Think about it. If two guys have a problem, what do they do? They have an argument, toss a few words or fists back and forth, and the situation is resolved.
Women are totally different. You have a problem with another girl, you go into covert operations and dig up info on the girl and use it to start rumors, blackmail, ruin her self esteem, her rep, her life... all over the course of like 3 months lol. You women are evil to each other!!! lol.
Seriously tho, send an upfront honest email and really lay down specifics. While we don't need 'brutal truth' all the time, we do need simple honest truth. Not these giggling, sneak a look, whisper to your friends while looking at the guy, does he know I like him type things. That doesn't mean to say we're superior to you or you to us, it just means we operate on different levels, and it's not always clear what the other side wants because of this difference.
At any rate, hope that helps! Good luck!

because he thinks you want more and doesn't wanna lead you on or be mean by saying no. Or maybe he ran out of credit. Wait a couple of weeks then text him again askig him how he's doin. If he replies, tell him you;re sorry if you made him feel uncomfortable, but you just thought texts were getting impersonal and you wanted to meet as friends.

You inspired him to meet someone else and he doesn't want to queer the deal by meeting you for coffee. What is so hard to understand about that?

Well... that is kind of an ackward situation. Maybe he's worried that you want more than just a friendship. Or... sorry to be blunt... maybe he just finds you really unattractive.

Ask again. If he doesn't answer, assume he really doesn't want to meet with you.
