I found that writing a novel on an electric typewriter is easier than writing on a computer. Does anyone prefer writing on a typewriter than on a computer or by longhand?

I rely on longhand but between PC and a typewriter I think typewriter would be my choice because with PC you tend to make too changes and then later realize that maybe your first draft was better. On a typewriter you have everything saved in case you want to go back to the first version.

I never have written much on an electric typewriter, but I think that Stephen King still does at times. I'd love to try writing that way but I tend to make a lot of typing mistakes and I would miss my backspace key and such! There is a nostalgic feeling to writing on a typewriter though :)

My uncle does--he says that the keys have a better feel on a typewriter than a computer--it's something about the clicking that he likes! I think that whatever you choose is your choice, but hopefully you don't make many mistakes! Have fun!

I rewrite my stories way too often to write them on an electric typerwriter. Sometimes, I have re-written stories up to 10 times. Of course, I could do this long hand, but with a PC it's so much easier to rephrase sentences and to spin a plot.

"existence on the Mississippi" with the aid of Mark Twain became the 1st novel ever written on a typewriter. human beings first thought that "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" became the 1st e book to be written on one yet historians have proved them incorrect.
