Hope this helps...Good old fashioned dishwashing detergent is an antisurfactant which lessens the tension between grease and a surface it is on. Put some of this on the grease, use a soft cloth, and rub. It will come right off. Alternatively, you can use Windex, which becasue it has ammonia in it, will dosolve the grease too. Neither will harm the range.

Degreaser. Are you talking about cooking grease, use dish soap or are you talking about black grease lilke car grease?
I would put a little cooking oil on paper towels and wipe at it till the worst was gone then wash it with your dish detergent. (that's if it is the thick black grease)
Good Luck.

Get some biological washing Powder and make it into a thick paste.
Coat the range with this past, rubbing it in with your hands(Wear Gloves), leave for at least 2 Hours.
When you return, wipe off with damp sponge-NO Scouring or scrubbing will be needed!
