An external hard drive would be best, if that is not an option just buy a 4 Gb flash drive. If you are trying to do it cheaply just create 5-6 folders and name them cd 1 cd2 etc. and copy 650-700 mb of songs in to each folder and burn each folder to a cdrw as data. If the files are wma files you will need to backup the licenses to be able to play them on your computer after you re-format your hard drive.. Good Luck.

If you have the ability, a DVD-RW would be great. It will hold all of the data, PLUS you could keep it as a backup, in case something went wrong, and as you add to your collection, you could simply write over the disc periodically. If you only have CD writing capability, then CD-RWs would be almost as good, but would make the task a little more time consuming. I store my media files on a second hard drive, separate from my system drive. This keeps the system drive much cleaner, leaves more space for programs and documents, and secures my files should the system drive become infected or damaged. Plus, should I ever get a new system, it would be a snap to transfer the files, just by installing the drive into the new computer. If you are computer savvy enough to do so, I highly reccomend installing a second hard drive for this reason. Good Luck

just transfer all the songs to another partition before cleaning it..
i.e if u are formatting C drive store those songs in D and transfer back to C while cleaning D.
and you cannot burn on a DVD with a CD-burner

Y!A has consistently been community moderated for the reason that its inception in 2005. I dont get the place human beings think of the equipment that went into place final September became finally NEW, because of the fact it became not. How might the asker of this question experience in the event that they knew that definitely the human beings turning interior the abuse IN BULK are definitely purchasers that are point 6 and 7 that have grown so weary of the abuse that they take it upon themselves to characteristic a quota of "comments" to their every day quota of solutions, questions and votes??? I even have been commonplace to record in bulk, yet I record the ABUSE, not the abuser. i actually dont care who the consumer call is under the avatar. i'm staring on the ABUSE, not THE ABUSER. Yahoo isnt going to hire a gaggle of folk to reasonable a unfastened communicate board. the only way you will get around it incredibly is to cost for Y!A like Google solutions did... yet then you definately will see the positioning grow to be the ghost city GoogleA did... The kiddies will in no way in no way in no way pay to place up their swill... in no way.

DVD.
Make sure to copy them as a "data" project NOT "music".
This will maintain the MP3 file integrity.

right you need winrar from http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm then add and compress what you want and burn all to a dvd or a external hard drive using http://www.deepburner.com/
compressing it means you can fit more on to one disc
