The Guardian is left wing, the Mail is right wing. As the Guardian doesnt come out on Sunday you should have done it yesterday.

What you could do to get it done today, is look up articles by those papers online. Try and find a story from each on immigration or crime, for example, and see the different lines they take.

The Guardian and the Mail are polar opposites in their political ethos. Your teacher is absolutely right to advise you to read both these papers; you will be able to get both points of view, which will help you form your own opinions. You can do this by deciding which paper comes closer to what you experience in your daily life and which addresses your concerns most aptly.

The Daily Mail is traditionally a right wing paper (Conservative UKIP etc) the Guardian left wing (Labour) so yes my guess is "political bias", hope this answers your question.

The Guardian tells you the news as it is[basically the truth], while the Mail takes or invents a story, twists it to 'fit' its readership and looney right wing stance. In essence chalk and cheese.

The Mail is famous for it's Conservative Slant on the news whereas The Guardian tends to put a Liberal slant on the news.

Because the Daily Mail tells it as it is, the Guardian advertises jobs for outreach workers, condom suppliers to gays, etc at £100,000 a year.

They are both known to have very opposing political views / bias.

A quick way of finding out someone's political beliefs is to ask them what paper they read - all papers are known for some - even those that say they are unbiased!!
