Well, caffiene isn't healthy for your baby, so if you can find a brand that is caffiene free, then go ahead and drink that- I drank this Starbucks kind- Passion flavored that was caffiene free when I was pregnant. Doctors want you to limit your caffiene, if not avoid it all together. So really, it's up to you- I looked at it as I wanted to keep my baby as healthy as possible- anything I drank/ate, so did my baby, so I made sure to eat/drink healthy so I knew my baby was healthy and I did no harm.

A little caffeine once in a while won't harm your baby. Unsweetened drinks usually contain aspertame, which is not recommended while pregnant. It has been linked to birth defects. Now having said that one won't harm your baby. However it is best to avoid them altogether.
Aspartame. Aspartame is not technically a food but a sweetener, but it might as well be, given the amount that many people consume. The concern about aspartame is that it contains phenylalanine, an amino acid that is toxic for children with the rare condition phenylketonuria (PKU). Since your body will break down the phenylalanine, ingestion during pregnancy likely wouldn't cause a problem for your fetus, even if she did have PKU. However, the best advice for aspartame (even if you're not pregnant) is "everything in moderation."

Yes it is safe . It will make you pee more and it is hard on your bladder I wouldn't drink more then one a day . Now if you switch to the lipton green ice tea that would be better and you can drink more of it also . You might want to double check on the brisk tea though with your ob doctor . I know there are some teas that can make you contract and put you into labor early . Also don't drink rassberry ice tea or hot tea or camamille tea after 7 months . It will stop labor .

Unsweetened Ice tea is fine in moderation like anything else containing caffeine. I drink coffee and an occasional soda and I am pregnant with my second child, same as when I was pregnant the first time.

I'm addicted to caffeine. I can admit it. So during all 3 of my pregnancies I drank diet coke, coffee, tea everyday (once a day, one or the other). My doctor cleared it all, in moderation. The only time I really had to "give up" my caffeine (to once or twice a week--maybe) was when I nursed my children.

As long as you do not have an excessive amount of caffiene you should be fine. I think it is apporoved to have 1 cup of coffee per day and that should equate to at least 2-3 glasses of sweet tea. When they say not to have caffeine during pregnancy they mean in excess. Some people drink a pot of coffee a day and that is excessive. Most people do not even know they are pergnant this early so Good Luck and I know you can't wait to start shopping!!!

I still drink sweet tea occasionally. It does have some caffeine but as long as you don't drink too much you should be fine. I figure it's probably better for the baby than soda, so when I just can't stand water any more I'll have a glass of tea. Just don't over-do it with the caffeine and you and baby should be just fine.
