I've done it with my husband. It doesn't hurt if you take time and use a lot of lube. But, if your really don't want to, then he should respect that as well.

It is certainly more dangerous than normal sex, for a number of reasons. In general it will also be less pleasurable for the woman. However if you do it right you should be fairly safe.
Also, it doesn't make him gay in any way. Homosexuality involves sexual attraction towards people of the same gender; anal sex with people of the opposite gender has nothing to do with it.

Some people enjoy anal sex. Couple bad things are the spread of E.Coli into his urethra (can lead to infection) and pain on your end (no pun intended) of the spectrum

If he can't understand that you say no ask him what he would say if you put your finger up his butt. Watch him react to that and then say to him that a finger is smaller than his tool.
It will hurt regardless of what people say, I had a girlfriend once who's boyfriend did it to her and she said it was a really horrible experience.

Well if you are that set against it, tell him it's ok if he does it with someone else. No sense in depriving him if you are inhibited.
Actually go to the internet and look up anal intercourse and inform yourself and your husband on techniques, expectations, etc. Plenty of lube and patience is the key.
You might like it and you then have the option of exploring a little further such as doing your husband with a strap-on.

Lubrication and patience is the key , let him try! But remember lubrication and patience.
Painful if he just rams it in, he has to go at your pace first then when you are comfortable you set the pace.

Mine always wanted it too until I told him that when he let someone do that to him then he could do it to me. He hasn't asked in a long time!
