I was on birth control for a year consistantly, and was off of it for the month of December. I had unprotected sex 1 or 2 days before expected period (7 days ago) and it has yet to come. I have cramps that come and go, bloating, and boobs are sore (all usual signs of PMS for me) Yet still no period. Is stress and my constant thinking about pregnancy stalling my period or is it possible I'm pregnant, and when should I do a test to find out?

You're right that it could be stress, or it could be pregnancy. Go to the drug store and find a home pregnancy test - it will say on it when you can take it to find out. They are not 100% certain though, so I suggest you also see your doctor. Plus, only a doctor can test for STDs, which you could get from unprotected sex.

For future reference, make sure to use condoms every time you have sex, as they're the only thing that can prevent STDs. If you do have unprotected sex, you can take emergency contraception ("Plan B") within a day or two to help prevent a pregnancy.

If you had sex right before your period was due, it's probably unlikely that you conceived, since you would have ovulated well before that, but anything is possible when it comes to reproduction, and I've never seen any point to waiting to take a home test. They're pricey, but sometimes it's worth the peace of mind.

Stress can be a reason for a missed or late period, but if you had sex without protection, then you definitely could be pregnant. I would go and take a test.

You can test up to 4 days before your missed period!! If you were only off the pill in December, your chances are very slim that your not pregnant, trust me!!! The pill does crazy things to your body!!! My sister went off of BC in April 06, and just got her forst period since then in December!!! And its unlikely that you can get pregnant 7 days before your period, unless u ovulate really late!!!

good luck!!

I would wait a week to see if your period comes or not than take a test. Sometimes when you stop control your period gets messed up for a few months.
Also stress will delay your period.
