I use to not like the idea when I was younger, probably because I was raised stricted Catholic. I always thought that the whole moving in thing dealt with the idea "why should he buy the cow when he can get the milk for free." But right now I've found a great guy, he was raised the same as me and we've been thinking about it. It's the only way we can be together because we live in two different states right now so one of us is planning on relocating into a area that cost of living is way high so sharing an apartment is much more economical.
Our relationship isn't all about sex. We were best friends before we became lovers. So I'm warming up to the idea. Plus people are right, I'll probably get to see him and vice versa in our true lights.
Oh, btw we are getting a 2 bedroom apartment :P

Well actually I think it is good because you get to see how they live there life without it being legal. On the other hand you can get caught up into just living with this person and then see no reason to get married. This hurts a women deeply if this happens. Makes them think they are not worth getting married to.

I think it is the best way. My first marriage was traditional (did not live w/ him before marrying) and ended quickly. My husband and I lived together 5 years before getting married and it is going very well.

Of course. Then you get the chance to see all the habits of your partner, both good and bad and you will be able to work on anything that needs to be worked on in your relationship Before the marriage takes place. Take your time.

If you live with them before you marry, you will never be able to marry the same person.

It just depends on your personal (and sometimes moral) opinions. I think it is better to find if you mesh with someone (living with them) before you committ to a lifetime of being with them everyday.

I agree with the person who said "It should be mandatory". If it were as hard to get married as it is to get a divorce, the divorce rate would'nt be as high as it is....

yes, at this stage of life. For me I would use "temporary-marriage" term. Do you buy shoes without "trying them on first?" I think this analogy works here.
