If you don't know what I'm talking about, then ignore this question. I just got Season 2 on DVD for Christmas and forgot all about her. Yikes!

I believe she was supposed to be someone who wasn't an insider on the crew from the beginning like all the other cast members were.
Besides, who could forget the memorable line when she called Data (long A), Data (short A), and when she asked what the difference was, he replied, "One is correct, the other is not."

Oh man, yes. That Diane Muldaur is just too much to bear. She is rude and snippy with everyone. It's funny, because I remember her as a much younger guest star on the original star trek. She appeared a couple times in different roles (like the actor who played Sarek and Trelaine - who doubled as romulan and klingon respectively) and she was always lovely and enjoyable. But as Dr. Pulaski, she is the worst. I couldn't watch all of her episodes - especially once she got on Data's case and insisted on calling him Da-Ta - ugh!
I could go on and on as you see.

Yes, I always thought they miscasted Diana Muldaur for that part.
I liked Dr. Crusher better, but for me THE best is "The doctor".
