I am doing a project on it and i wanted to see if everyone new... but it always depends what fertilizer you use.... i used miracle gro.. and a fish fertilizer (Alaska organic)

It depends on the purpose of the fertilizer-whether you are using it more long-term to enrich the soil (in which case you should add organic elements to build up the soil) or if you are using it to make specific plants grow during the season (Miracle-Gro is awesome for this purpose).

All fertilizers are good for plant growth and health, as they supply the same thing; nitrogen, phorphorus and potassium.

You can buy inorganic fertilizers in different balances, depending upon what the soil needs, but....

The best way to feed plants AND improve the condition of the soil "long term" is to fertilize by adding organic material. Add nitrogen with things like fish carcasses or horse manure. Add phosphorus with bone meal. Add potassium with wood ashes.

I use Miracle Grow, too, but I also build up my soil as I explained above.
