My first husband and I were professionals with multiple advanced degrees in the same field. After our divorce I remarried a man six years younger with two young children. He had only one semester of community college and drove a truck at the time. I like classical music and read while he prefers hard rock and watching fishing shows and sports. Our differences are outweighed by the fact that he is a gentle man and considerate man who treats me like a queen. He works hard, treats me with respect, and is the most even tempered and fun person I have ever been around. My adult daughter says he balances me and makes me a better person and our families are thrilled that we found each other. Does marrying someone so different mean compromise? Sure. He goes to the theater with me and I have learned to watch football in sports bars with him and his friends. We have been VERY happily married for 11 years now. Vive le difference!

Hmm , I think any marriage of two people is a meshing of two totally different personalities with basic interest in common.
