Wow. What a broad vague question. I'll take a shot at it. People like something else because they are bored with the same old -same old and because alot of people like to try new things and be different.

To be an individual. Not wanting to be part of the pack. If everyone liked exactly the same thing, then life would be very dull. How would you like to eat oatmeal every morning just because everyone else like it.
