My daughter was the captain of the freshman cheerleading squad. During practice one day she was getting injured and walked off (after this continued and was told to just keep practicing) and did use an inappropriate word. She was asked to leave. Since then her peers told her she was removed from the team. No one has spoken to her about this situation and the coaches never returned my emails or phone calls. They were scheduled to go on a trip which I paid for that has now passed. I paid about $400.00. I have spoken to the Assistant Principle who said he could not help me because he doesn't know the details. After a month the Athletic Director finally called me and told me I have no rights as a parent and that it is none of my buiness. This is between my daughter and the coaches. WHAT!! Since when do I not have the right to know. There are many things that took place during the month but we are limited to how many characters we can use.

I had a similar problem with my local school district. I had a little more to go on (504 disability related hearing loss meaning they took the call from my attorney very seriously) but if you have any friends on the school board or in administration now would be a good time to make the call.

Also, if you were to have your attorney knock out a quick demand letter for the return of your $400 you would probably find this impotent bureacrat bending over backwards to make your life easier in the future. He's just pulling this crap on you because he has mistaken you for a member of the masses without the backbone to challenge him.

You are your childs biggest advocate. Sue the school for your money back by taking them to small claims court. Demand to know what happened or tell them they will be talking to your attorney.

You have rights as a parent, however the liberal fodder in this country has slowly been taking these rights away from you, Parents need to get involved in their kids schools and hold these as*es responsible, I might suggest going to the school board.
