My ob-gyn told me to drink lots of water and milk and avoid fruit juices since they are loaded with sugar and can contribute to extra weight gain. He said if you are going to drink lots of fruit juice (like juicy juice etc..) you may as well eat a bunch of snickers bars...will have the same effect. Its okay to have a small amount of caffeine a day. 1 or 2 cups of coffee or plain tea is fine. Avoid herbal teas, since not enough studies have been done on the effects of herbals during pregnancy. My ob-gyn also recommended that if you haven't felt any baby kicks in a while, drink a coke. I stay away from sugar free and diet sodas since they are loaded with aspartame and other artificial sweeteners. If you get bored with milk, heat it up and mix some ovaltine in it. Ovaltine has vitamins added and it tastes pretty good. As for preservatives, use your judgement. Preservatives are in almost all the food we eat nowadays unless you eat only organic foods. The one preservative I try and make a point of avoiding is MSG. Hope this helps.

Its good that u know water is essential in pregnancy but of course us pregnant women would love to drink things othr than just water for 9 months. I find that with this pregnancy I love milk, before I got pregnant I didnt really care for it but now I find myself drinking it a lot. Juicy juice also is really good and good for you..I like the strawberry banana one the most after chilling it until it gets slushy like.Apple juice and definitely orange juice all the time with lots of pulp. One of my favorites. As long as it doesnt contain sodium or very low sodium and no caffiene it should be ok.

I am 9 months pregnant and I have been drinking tons of Gatorade . Another great drink is Juicey Juice lol . Be careful with carbonation it will give you heart burn and on the Gatorade stay away from the lemon lime it will give you heart burn to . My favorite is orange or fruit punch .
One the preservatives thing . Not neccesarley true . Think about it candy has preservatives in it so just be smart .

I personally do not like milk. I drink alot of orange juice in crushed ice with half the amount of water. And you can get sugar free cranberry. I do alot of things with the blender. There are alot of sugar free juices that are better for you.

Gatorade is wonderful, just dont drink to much because it can cause diahrrea. Milk is also great and depending on your weight 2% or even whole milk would be good. I like to add crystal light to my water to make it different than the regular glass of water. Hope it helped.

Natural, freshly squeezed fruit juice of anykind is just fine. Tomato juice, mixed veg. drink, Clamato etc...Extra work, but it's worth it. It is your baby and you want to protect it.
Stay away from Coke/diet coke or any caffenated or carbonated drinks. This includes tea. It contains tannin. Chinese tea also has tannin. Depending on the region where the tea is grown, the concentration of tannin you consume varies. They do not put that on label because there is no regulation on Chinese tea, herbal tea or Ginseng.

caffeince free soda is okay, juicy juice, water but you know that one, anything. Just be reminded 1-2 glasses of caffeine is all you are supposed to have in pregnancy!
