You bet! I just sold all of my Barbie's and clothing and accessories this past summer. the most I remember my grandmother paying for amny of it was $2 or $3 back in the 1960's. I sold it all for over $800 before fees were taken out on eBay. Yes it is worth it!

It depends what you mean by worth...

I used to collect, Beano and Dandy annuals when I was a kid, and I still do now.

I think when you get older you seem to understand the value of having a set or working hard to get your hands on something as opposed to when you were say, 7 and you only liked them for how pretty they were, or how all your friends had them.

I don't think the value stops existing, it just changes. Sure you can't really play with your old dolls any more, because maybe you grew out of them, but you can still enjoy the thrill of collecting and the enjoyment of just HAVING a worthwhile collection.....

So please, maintain any good collections you have, you never know if they might become worth something, or if YOUR kids might take pleasure from them.

Yes, I started collecting Shirley Temple dolls and memorabilia when I was a kid in the '60's and still do today. Yes, it has value, although prices have dropped for some of the more common peices since ebay came around because they are easier to find now, but the harder to find stuff has gone up in value. But I never collected for value, I collect because I love Shirley.

I collect Periclean dolls. My Grandma started me on them when I was little and I don't know if they are worth anything money wise but to me they are priceless. And as I have gotten older the dolls that I received have also matured. When I was a little girl, they where very little girlish, but now I get the womanly dolls.
