I mean people are nice to me at high school they do not care about race and they just hang out. Nobody is a class clown and people have a good sense of humor. No racial slurs.
Is this reallly how New England is like?
I used to live in Atlanta, Georgia and i lived in the south for 8 years of my life and i just moved to new england and while at the south since im asain i experienced lots of discrimination and racism.
There is none here in New England,
And bye bye, good bye south im living in the north and not coming out.
Is THIS REALLY How new england is like?

Maybe that's how it is in the town you're in. I grew up in a very small town in New England and it was about 99% white. For years, I thought no one was racist until I realized a lot of people were just quiet about it. It was mostly the older people who were somewhat racist but they never said anything obviously inappropriate until something happened, like their white kid started dating a black kid. Even then, they didn't really say anything rude, they'd just show that they weren't happy about it somehow. The weird thing was that I never knew anyone to have a problem with Asians, it was mostly black people they didn't care for.

But, for the most part, New England seemed a lot more tolerant compared with parts of the south. Or at least, the people are a bit more reserved and less apt to be open about any racist feelings. As for the class clown thing, we had them so I don't know why your school doesn't!

I can't really say anything about New England (except that I hope the Patriots win the Super Bowl) but generally the North is always more liberal than the South; it has been since the days of slavery.

I hope you like your new life up here in the North :)

Prejudice exists, unfortunately all over. It is more blatant in large citties like Atlanta, but it exists in most citties and towns to some degree. The level of prejudice seems to rise in areas where there is a lot of competition for jobs and housing. You have found a nice place to live. Enjoy it, but remember the lesson of Atlanta and don't be too quick to judge the city by your experiences or the way others have treated you.

Yes this is just how New England is. There are lots of fun things to do too. There are too many different nationalities in New England and we learn easily how to live and work with one another.

The one thing that I am sorry is that I did not take Spanish in school.

I live in California an there isn't any racism in the schools I've went to an in the city I live in. Crime is rare here. We have many races here so people feel welcomed. Many Hispanics, Caucasions an African Americans an Asians!

I live in Conn. My state, Mass and NY are like that. The further north you go, the more they aren't like that.
