Not really, unless you have film footage of the whole house. You need to have it valued by a reputable valuer. I don't mean an Estate agent. They always give a false inflated valuation to gain more commission from the sale. That is one of the reasons why house prices have got out of control. As a seller we all want the best price so nobody questions the Estate agent. The true valuation comes from the valuers employed by the Building Societies who aren't going to lend more than the house is worth.

The answer is YES, but nothing is certain until an actual appraisal is conducted. However, as an investor, we utilize the results of several different sites such as http://www.zillow.com - http://www.cyberhomes.com and we use the average of these sites. The more sites you find where you can put your address in and get a value, and then take the average of all those sites, you will be able to derive a very accurate fair market value of you home.

In short, no but you can check out www.nethouseprices.com this will tell you the sold price of other houses in your area, and therefore give you a guide as to the worth of yours. I know that this is what valuers use, linked with house price rises in the area to give your property a value for mortgage lending purposes. An estate agents valuation can NEVER be trusted, as this is only the price they are willing to market a property at (and remember they are trying to win your business) not necessarily the price it will acheieve. Hope this helps.

Easy answer here... if you are in the UK, check the land registry, under recent law changes, they can tell you what recent property prices have gone for recent sells. Similarly, you can search for property sales in your region by typing in yahoo and a site will produce a list of similar property to yours. Good luck.

The free sites that are out there aren't very effective or accurate, in my opinion. I think that you'd have to use a paid site or service.
However, here's a suggestion. Go to http://www.creonline.com and ask this same question on their free forum. There a LOT of super-knowledgeable people there.

Go to rightmove.co.uk.Register and log in.Go to sold prices and type in your street name post code etc. This will give you a good indicator as it will show all sold prices for the last 2 years and latest sold prices about 3 months in arrears.

I am not sure what county or state you live in, but most counties have a property appraiser's office. You can usually search it online and enter your address and they will show you what they have listed as your property value. They appraise your property in order to establish your taxes for the year. Search "your county" and "property appraiser" on either google or yahoo.
