When Jerry Springer's show debuted in Chicago, they used to make a point of saying the participants were not paid. They do, however get free airline tickets, hotel accommodations, they also have a wardrobe room full of tacky costumes for them to wear, and, oh yeah, all the booze they can drink. Me and my friends used to get tickets for the show all time, and believe it or not, during the commercial breaks, all the chaos would die down, and the participants would not even speak to each other. It was very weird....I have not been at the show in quite a few years, who knows what goes on now. I would not be surprised if there are a few "red herrings" mixed in with the other participants.

No they just go to a trailer park in West Virginia and randomly select the first 8 people they see to be on the show. They offer them a free trip to Chicago and some road kill as incentives for being on the show.

I certainly hope so. I can't imagine those losers getting up there, and doing those antics for free. If they don't get paid, they're even dumber than they look.
