Can not play games on neo geo emulator?

i downloaded neo geo emulator but it does not work when i start it it says "bios not found" what are bios and where can i get them from.

and how do i make games work? please help

the BIOS is a chip on the system that does all the inital boot-up stuff, similar to a BIOS in a modern computer. what your emulator is looking for is an image of the BIOS, which is basically a file that contains a copy of the software.

this poses a problem. unless you own a neo geo system, you legally can't possess a bios system...and unless you own the real games, you legally can't possess ROM's either.
