Judging by the recent trends, I would say that, unless the £ crashes, the £ will be worth US$2 in the next few weeks or so.
In the past week or so it peaked at around $1.96 to £1, but recently the figure has dropped down to it's present $1.92, which was set at the end of 5th January.

Looking at the trend line, there's going to be a slight drop, before it peaks yet again, no doubt at $2-£1.

As London Olympics are near in 2012. I hope the value of Pound sterling will increase.

cor, i remember many, many moons ago as a child. the pound at one time was worth 4 dollars. hence the expression that half a crown (pre-decimalization money) was commonly called half a dollar. i`m sure there must be more of us old fogey`s on here that will remember that ..lol

Current exchange rate £1 = US$1.93049
It will if the US dollar continues to get weaker, 7 cents isn't that far to fall.

it should be the economic growth of this country compared to that of the USA is much more and therefore it is highly likely the pound will continue to grow in value whilst the dollar diminishes
