AVG is still free. All they have done is release a new updated version of it. To download and install the new version go to the following link:

It's still an excellent product but I would recommend using it in conjunction with Windows Defender which is also free to download from Microsoft Support:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
Why pay for Norton or McAfee when you can you use these brilliant products for free instead?

No. There is still a free AVG available. They are making is difficult to find on the site, but my computer tech has accessed it for me.
