Well, Yes you can do the above and use a Anti Virus but what if the .dat(definition) don't have that keylogger defined?

The best thing to do is format not the recovery cd but a real Windows Format..... See once your system is compromised a hacker will usually install a backdoor(or a couple of them) to have the option to come back in if the other is detected.

Norton Antivirus has a program on it that scans for everything. Run a scan and it should tell you.
