download pdf995 (free). It works like a printer... anything you can print from the computer will be convereted to a .pdf file.

I agree with John H, although it's only free with some catch, I forget what, I think it only does some number of documents or it puts their logo in the PDF file and their link... But it's only $9 for a license that lets you keep the full version, and like John says, it's like a printer, File > Print > and select "PDF995" from the printer selection list. And then hit print. A window will come up asking you how to save the file. Save it as whatever.pdf and then it'll work. If you have Adobe Acrobat, then after PDF995 has encoded your file, Acrobat will launch with the pdf file.

FOR EXAMPLE, I printed off the PDF here of the Yahoo Answers site. See this:

You don't see the design, because as it is like a virtual printer, it removes the design stuff to "save ink".
