What you do is is get poles(colurfull so your horse can see)and lay them on the ground about 4 feet a part.Then you can Canter over them.For troting about 2 feet and walking the same.If you jump your horse try putting them infront of the jump but not to close or he'll/she'll try to jump them

Hmmm, why would you want to? His stride is what is comfortable for him, not you. If you insist, you can use check-straps, but I would only use them under the direct supervision of a professional horse trainer, or you risk broken legs for your steed. Good luck!

well, pull gently on your reins to get him on his bit. this is what i do hope it helps
