It seems like when I am with a guy the topic always comes up sooner or later. Are guys just interested in numbers?

You may want to think about the numbers a little. Promiscuous sex will land you in three places, heartbreak, STD, or motherhood.
If you are with lots of guys, as your question seems to imply, what is the point? If you're a girl who likes to play, fine. But if that vibe is what these guys are picking up on, that vibe is what prompts the question.
If you're a girl who gets into emotional attachments easily, but you want something more from a relationship, know that you are not going to get it from sex. Relationships come from relationships. To most men, or guys, sex and relationships are two totally different things which do not always occur simultaneously.
You may want to consider how you will respond when asked this question. The bottom line is, you can't control the guys. It sounds like they are going to ask you this question. What will you say? You need to come up with an answer that you are comfortable with. If they don't like it, they can hit the road. It's their loss.

If the guys asking you are potential partners, they are most likely looking out for themselves. Honestly, I may get uncomfortable knowing that a boyfriend has been with a lot of people.. but at the same time, I like to know what I am dealing with. You never know what people could have!

It's all about competition, I guess guys like to know what their up against if you get what I mean. I really don't think a guy likes a girl to have had to many sexual partners, no guy wants to go where another man has been many times before.....

They just want to be confident that you haven't had many partners, it matters to them. If you had many, I suggest you lie or simply say it's not important.

it all has to do with the sexist -pig double standard..
I just wish guys would be honest with the amount of partners they have had...but if they were, none of them would probly ever pick up a decent woman ever again..
They all think they deserve a "virgin" but can sleep with multiples of women and think its perfectly "ok"..
