The land of Australia is so lucky that it had, it has, and it will have many a great cricketers. The talent is so rich that we can't see any major affect on their strength. One has to think seriously when the likes of Warne, Mcgrath, Langer and Martyn made way for youngsters but he has nothing to worry about as likes of Hussey and Clark are their to take over the control under magical Ricky Ponting.

well aussies will lack experience but mcgrath isn't a big deal because stuart clark is already stepping up to the standards of mcgrath but langer has been in the australian test team for a very long time which means australia doesn't have a experienced opener but phil jaques can take that spot and shane warne is way ahead with macgill with the mental structure

If they felt they should retire then it is probably the tym.
But the Aussie team wont weaken coz they have plenty of talented youngsters like Mitchell Jonson , Nathan bracken , Stuart Clark. they will account for the loss of Mcgrath. In the batting department also there r players with good potential for the test side like symonds and simon katich.Cameron White is a good spinner so is Nathan Hauritz. McGill also is pretty good.So there is no way the Aussies can b weakened.

That sucks cause i hate 'em

No, They still have Matthew hayden,Ricky Ponting, Gilchrist, Brett Lee, Nathan Bracken , 2 Michael's , Shane Watson, Mitchell Johnson, Andrew Symonds,Simon Katich and a lot of other Good Players. They would still be a formidable side, especially in One-Dayers. In Tests though , they will get affected by the absence of Langer,Warne, Mcgrath .

Actually i dont think it will affect very badly for the australian team.Coz they have brilliant players playing for their A team who can replace any of the current players.(remember hayden entered the team and got stable after he was 30)They have such competetion so i dont think it will make a radical change.

Yes i believe it will make them some time to gain the confidence from the young blood to the level when they had the mentioned seniors.

I believr mcgrath went at the right time. When considering his personal problems and all the rest of it.I feel warni and martyn shudn have retired.Warni is a spinner and he doesn have to spend so much energy like mcgra..

they all could have played for a longer time as they were healthy and bowling and batting quite well. Hoever Langer, McGrath and Warne felt it was the right time to go out of the game after they all humiliated england.

To all the above posters who have stated their ages as if it is a bad thing, Age holds no barriers!
Just as England called them the " Dad's Army " they came out fighting to the end and won 5-0!

I think it may make a small change, But the Australian side shows great confidence, mateship and teamwork.
There will be a lot more up and coming youngsters and the other members of the team are awesome too.

I don't think so. Debue & Retirement are continious process in every walk of life. Change is the essence of life. I have seen cricketers retiring from pretty long time, New comers will take over & the game continiues.

Right from John Bradman till Shane Warne many have retired but Cricket is still Shining.

This appiles not only to Cricket or any game. It applies for any thing & every thing in life.

Lord Tennyson said ( Morte'd Arthur )

"The old order changeth, yeilding place to the new, And God fulfils himself in many ways, Lest one good custom should corrupt the world." ...

As regards their retirement time, every individual is the best judge in himself

Warne is a big loss not just for his bowling but his cricket brain and his presence on the field. McGrath also has a huge presence. When batsmen line up against them, they do get a little worried.

Langer is a great cricketer but Australia has plenty of batmen to take his place.
