No - food does not help.
Over the counter remedies that might help can be found under the brand name Clearasil, or products with similar medical contents.
Some types of hair conditioner, shampoo, and makeup can cause breakouts, so look for non-comedogenic products and try to just use a stripping shampoo and styling gel for a week or so to see if there is an improvement.
Many people require the help of a dermatologist to get rid of acne. They will go through a series of treatments, starting with the one with least cost and side effects, until they find one that works.

Hmmm...I've never tried honey, honey and milk as an exfoliator wouldn't work because there is no exfoliant in either of those things. If you really want a good exfoliator, get something with peach pits in it, or olive pits. Aloe helps for getting rid of inflammation. You need to do some investigation into what beauty regime you want to go with. YOu need to find a line of cleanser, toner, and moisturizer that will tame the beast. I tried Proactive, and I LOVE it. I have combination skin, and even though it wasn't too bad originally, my skin is 100 percent better now.
My friend tried it, too, and she experienced great results. I'm completely sold on the stuff. But I hear that it doesn't work for everyone. What you need is to experiment. Find what works for you and your skin type, and go with it. You know what they say, too. Diet and exercise do just as much for your skin as anything else. We are what we eat and do as much as what we cleanse with.

I don't know about honey, but when I was younger I would put toothpaste on my pimples at night and they would be close to clear by morning. I guess the toothpaste would dry them out.

I have an acne treatment that has won me the best answer better then thirty times. Often, the person who voted it the best answer was amazed at how well it worked, even those who had severe cases of acne. I'll copy and paste it below.
Use a hot compress on it (a washcloth, sponge, or anything that will allow you to apply moist heat to the area), and then use cool water to close the pores. Do the process over and over again, about five or six times. Use soap to wash the area, rinse it with warm water, blot off the excess water with a clean towel, and then treat it with an alcohol soaked cotton ball. It should be gone within five to six hours.
Here are some of the previous comments I cut and pasted from those who voted it as the best answer, (Copied and pasted as written. Capital letters seen are as originally answered)

best thing is to leave them.and they disappear themselves..because i used to use all sorts of products such as clean and clear etc..bt they make your skin work..and also make sure you drink plenty of water to keep your skin clear and also try and avoid fatty foods this creates more spots on your skin.
