Most Europeans dislike Americans because they are jealous of our superior intellect, which is manifested in our great wealth, unmatched military power, technology, etc. What do they expect us to do? Do they want us to "dumb down" to their level? We can't help being the people God made us.

I beleave there is nice good caring repsectful people in every culture religion etc.. i just dont understand how you say europeans are snoby ahhhh you know what maybe they are but the last time I checked americans immigrated to america from a place called europe. Iam european my self iam not trying to defend anyone iam just sayin there is stupid and snoby people everywhere and thats why the world is fuc ked up because of people acually like your self snoby and stupid by what you wrote. Actually, I find that Europeans are lovely people. I'm an American who is now living in Switzerland amongst many, MANY racist Europeans. However, they seem to think that us Americans are less intellectual than they are, as well as lazier and fatter. I myself find this to be the least appealing quality of Europeans, because upon first meeting them they judge you for your accent and heritage. Most come around quickly though, and prove to be lovely people who have just not been around enough Americans to have a steady opinion of them.
Also. Without a doubt, every single European I've met has blamed the American society (George Bush in large part) for everything that has gone wrong in Iraq.

Why are Americans snobs? Don't even go their with superior intellect because every other country knows how stupid Americans are and know that they don't exactly have the best education system! Plus Americans military power isn't even that great! There are many countries that could beat Americans!

I think that they perceive us as imperialists -- trying to impose our will on the rest of the world.
The only TRULY snobbish Europeans I have encountered in my travels were some of the French, particularly a few working at the Russian Orthodox Church in Nice.
I only encounter an issue or two when I engage in discussions of religion with some of my European colleagues -- and usually that is more of a simple 'look down the nose' at me and my faith based existence.

It isn't just the Europeans. Even us humble Australians generally dislike Americans greatly. There's this general belief that Americans are lazier, fatter, superficial and amoral. I realize It's unfair because that is an untrue reflection of American citizens.

I don't think that is the reason why they hate us...They probably think we are stuck up and have no morals. Some of which is true for some Americans, so we are a stero type to them just like they are to us.
