Well, I make more money, I pay less in taxes and I own a house. So my answer would be yes I am better off. Other than taxes I do not contribute any of this well being to the administration though. They are the result of hard work and perseverance. We all have the ability to make our lives better, but we have to take responsibility for lives and actions, rather than seeking to place blame on others. If your life is bad then you need to take steps to change it, but blaming the administration is just dodging taking responsibility for your situation. As long as you continue on this path you will not know true prosperity no matter who occupies the White House.

kysteelgirl: While I agree with some of your positions regarding Unions and Illegals, I feel the need to point out that Mr. Bush does not write bills, he only signs what is presented to him by Congress. The bill you speak of on Social Security is the Kennedy/McCain Senate bill. I find this bill to be a piece of garbage which should be abandoned, but blaming Mr. Bush for it gives a pass to the real culprits in Congress.

kysteelgirl: On second reading of the bill I will rephrase what I have said. There was an amendent proposed for the Kennedy/McCain bill which would have prevented social security benefits for illegals for time while they worked illegally. It was voted down by the Senate. I am familiar with the bill you refer to also, but here again you are still looking to indict the president based on Congressional actions. If the bill has been sitting on his desk unsigned since 2004 I do not see how you can legimately call that pushing an agenda. I am completely against Mr. Bush' position on illegal immigration as a whole. However, I believe in directing blame where it is due and not based on an agenda of dislike for the administration.

only the rich and illegals are doing better....ever watch War on the Middle-class on CNN? The job numbers our government put out are skewed....they don't say middle-class Americans are losing their good paying manufacturing jobs to illegals...they just county the illegals that have gone to work in the last quarter! Every union member should threaten to quit the union if they don't "come out" against illegals...at least in the states that have an open shop....if the union members don't do their part in stopping this debacle then I guess they"ll just have to get use to living on less money...but remember Americans are eligible for all the "freebies" being given to illegal aliens!

One other thing, remember bush plans to give social security to all illegals when amnesty passes!

Bryan - it is not the kennedy/mccain bill - this bill has been on bush desk since 2004 when he first started pushing amnesty and he made a deal with fox of mexico.....you are correct he does not write the bills he just gets on TV & pushes his agenda.....and he is the most influential man in our politics today!

That would be a matter of opinion on how you describe better ? I am not doing any worse, and I have all my bills paid for. My health is good. It was before he was elected also. A president does not have that kind of power to control your life. What you make out of your life is determined by you alone. It would be easy to blame someone else for your misfortunes. Sometimes you need to adjust your definition of better off. The global economy has taken its toll on the United States. Until this country decides to be a player and not a payer , our lives will continue to deteriorate economically. It starts with US companies investing in America and also the US worker accepting that the society of the company will pay for everything or the Government is gone. So, strap em up dig in and hopefully if immigration is controlled better, wages will again keep up with inflation.

We are better off. Better off than than we would have been if we'd had some democrat in office when 9/11happened. You can't compare how we were to how we are...how we were did not include 9/11. I feel fortunate that we had a President in power that was willing to sacrifice his reputation to protect our borders. All these people that run around chanting how we should bring our troops home never can finish their sentence...then what? What happens when we bring our troops homme and the war comes to our soil? Do people really think that we are simply over there for Bush's fantasy of getting back at Iraq? Look at how much has been accomplished....Saddam Hussein is DEAD. That is good news no matter what political affiliation you have.

People need to realize that we are defending our borders; us being over there allows all of the extremists in Iraq to take care of their crazy business on their OWN TURF. I for one, would rather not have our daycares bombed and our children killed. Our troops are over there SACRIFICING THEIR LIVES so all people can run around and continue to have free speech. Don't people realize that without our nation secured, we would lose all the rights we take for granted now.

It is unfortunate that so mamy people blindly echo what others have said. It's unfortuante that the media chooses to show only the negative implications of the war (even though those negative "facts" only include half truths). It is unfortunate that in these next elections, a democrat will be voted President simply because people feel that will bring our troops home.

I, for one, think that people need to stop being so closed minded and realize that there is a lot more going on over there then we give it credit for. Recently, I had a friend of mine come back from a tour of duty over there. She told me that people were actually coming up to them on the streets and THANKING them for being there...women were actually kissing the grounds her and other soldiers walked on!

We are doing a good thing over there, I wish it was the "popular thing" to realize that...as opposed to negate it.

Yes, we are actually doing a little better. The economy is way better than it used to be. The only thing that Bush did wrong is the Iraq War. It is so unfortunate that his legacy will be forever shadowed by the Iraq War. If we did not get involved in Iraq, he would be a very great President.

It's all you!
It's apparent you don't care for the president, however, he is not responsible for everything in your life. The stock market is at an all time high, which means people are spending more.
The federal government is not your mother. Take some responsibility for your own self worth. Would it be different if Bill Clinton were in office?

It's just you.

Right now we are changing over to the international model that the DNC and the left cried for 30 years ago. Not pretty is it. Those that adapt will do well, the rest will fall by the wayside and live like a beggar from Zimbabwe.

Note to liberals: Be careful what you wish for since you may not like the results.

I'm doing better but it has nothing to do with who's President. Who's actuall sitting around waiting for Bush to hand them success in life?
