Why do men lie about their age when they are past 55?

Oh no, not only women lie about their age! I suppose men do it for the same reason - they are afraid that the would be rejected for being too old if the women knew their actual age.

I have dated three men who lied about their ages. Funny thing is that I didn't really care about how old they were - but the lying was an issue I could not deal with.

I'm only 52, but generally i don't think all men do this. Those that do are in denial where it pertains to their age. They don't want to accept the fact that they've grown old. That most of them that do this no longer find themselves attractive to younger women, so they try to convince themselves that by claiming a younger age, they can perhaps attract the young ladies again.

Same reason women say they are "29 again" or "39 and holding". Who wants to admit they are getting old when they are only middle age? I don't...

well im not there YET (im 54) but i see no need to lie about my age --- i want a long term relationship and im not going to lie about something before we even meet
