If it's an automatic drip maker (most are), then measure out about 3 tablespoons of ground coffee, put the filter in the filter compartment of the coffee maker, and put the coffee in the filter. Measure out about 6 cups of water (usually there are markings on the side of the coffee pot). Pour the water into the machine - usually the back of the machine has a lid that flips up - lift the lid and pour the water in. Press the "on" button - it will stop by itself when it's ready.

Open the part at the top and pour water in. Now slide out the little tray and put in a paper filter. Put in ground-up coffee beans. Close the tray and turn on the coffee maker. Now put a pot in and wait for the coffee to come out.

Put in a paper coffee filter. Then add your coffee inside the filter paper. Add water, close the lid, press the button if you want it strong or light (some coffee makers don't have that) turn it on, and wait, then it'll be done. It should've explained it in the instructions.:).

Use 1/4 cup of coffee to 12 cups of cold water. (1/8 cup - or 2 Tablespoons - of coffee to 6 cups cold water, etc.). Try this and adjust amount to your taste. Coffee marked Bold will be stronger. I like the taste of Folgers best but I use Maxwell House because it doesn't get stronger after it sits awhile. Good luck.
