There wouldn't be a problem with taking her to the mall, but keep in mind that the first two months of her life are the most volitile when it comes to her little immune system. When I took my daughter out that young, I had a "no touch" rule. Strangers seem to like to come right up and touch a newborn, and I was NOT about to let their germy hands touch my princess.

Enjoy your time out of the house!

Of course you should have your baby with you and your family when you go out! My babies and I went everywhere together. Make sure you have planned ahead. Take your diapers and wipes, a warm bottle (or if breastfeeding you may prefer a light shawl if you want to drape), grab your cash and have fun. Remember when checking on baby, make sure they are at a comfortable temperature. The best rule of thumb for baby's warmth is one layer more than you are comfortable in. Because baby is so young and her internal thermostat isn't fully operational, do check to make sure they are not sweating or cold. It may sound rude, but try to keep admiring people from breathing all over/touching your baby. No need to pick up a bad cold along with your other shopping. If baby gets cranky, it is time to go home. Take care of yourself too, and watch you do not overdo things. You do not want to be a tired and cranky mom.

Yes, you'll be fine. Babies don't get sick just from being out in the open (I mean, unless someone walks by and sneezes on her or something). Just be careful about any of you touching her while you're at the mall, since you all will be touching things that are touched by thousands. Bring some Purell with you and be sure to use it when you need to pick her up or touch her pacifier or anything like that.

It's good to get out of the house -- have fun!

I went to the grocery store with my baby the day after we were released for the hospital. No one would go for me and no one would watch the baby. They are tough little critters and as long as the baby is healthy take them out. I don't agree with the idea of keeping them too sheltered. Besides it will do you good to get out and walk around and be around other people and not just cooped up with nothing to do but obsess over the baby.

YES! Go get out there! If your baby is normal and health there is no reason to not get out! I have had mine out since 1 day after we got home from the hospital. We needed things and it is just me and him. So anywhere I went he went too! He has never been sick and is 3 months old. I don't think that over sheltering them is good either. Get out you will both feel better! Just watch who's grimmy hands are near! Other kids are sick this time of year!
Also, his doctor told me not to dress them in anymore layers than I am wearing.

Of course it is. Just wrap her up warm, and remember to keep checking her while you are out to see if she is getting too hot. It is cold on the way there, but remember that stores have heating so keep checking her to make sure she's okay- and if you are in any doubt, I bet your mom will be able to remember how she coped when you and your sister were babies and give you advice :)

Is the baby a preemie? If so... no.
If not, yes. Dress her appropriately. Don't let people touch her & be sure to wash your hands VERY well a couple of times.
When you get tired.... REST!

Yes, you can take your baby out just make sure you have her dressed appropriately because babies that young cannot control their body heat.
