A Gypsy is a Romany or traveller and originally the term Pikey was given to them but nowadays it seems to be referred to an underclass of wasters and trash like Chavs

Going back many years ago travellers or gypsies ued to try and sell goods outside of the markets they were not allowed past the turnpikes these people were then classed as pikeys. a gypsy is classed as a traveller and normally associated with romanys

a pikey is someone who lives anywhere ,but has a voilent nature and wears chav clothes, mouthy and useally the whole family is mouthy too.
a gypsy is someone who lives in a mobile home , and moves from place to place, depends on the people whether they act like pikeys or not,. i worked for gypsy's and there very nice people that choose to live from the tradition of there family of being travellers.

There are very few 'real gypsies' nowadays, many have been domesticated 'so to speak'. Pikeys, are in the main, scrapmen and rogues.

A pikey is a scumbag wanna be gypsy that does not travel or move around and if they do its only because they were evicted horrible gob shites gypsys are travelers that move from town to town chasing work or just traveling and are usually not to bad well thats what i think anyway

Pikeys are of Irish dissent. Gypsy can come from anywhere. Both are good at bare fist fighting, thieving and causing a f00king mess anywhere they go.

now that's a word I haven't heard for a while
Pikey pete was a guy I knew in the 70's
so called mainly because he was a cross between
a tinker, wanderer, jack of all trades,
but this is not necessarily a definition
