I think Phoenix would be a better middle name. It sounds too much like a dog name if you were going to name him that for the first name. That is just my opinion.

I don't automatically associate it with the American town (I'm in Canada and not American) but I do immediately picture the bird. Sorry, it's still not my cup of tea as a name though.
I like Preston, Parker, Phillip or Pierce for boys names starting with P.

I rescued an orange cat that I named Phoenix. I like the name. Perhaps you could give him a more common middle name so that he can switch to that if it turns out later that he needs a professional sounding name.
I may have to adopt a kitty for every unique name I love but am too chicken to give to my children. ; )

I have heard Phoenix as a girls name more, but it is kind of cute as a boy's name. I like Shane if you are looking for more names also.

I love this for a boy. Place names/nature names are becoming pretty popular these days, and Pheonix is a very usable and likable name. I would love to name my son River if my husband would agree...so I say go for it!

It depends upon what future you have in store for this little one.
If you want him to grow up and be a Hollywood star then by all means do it . but If you want him to grow up and be a Doctor or Lawyer I'd suggest something a little more refined.
Though Phoenix is really a cool name with great symbolism.........
REMEMBER this is a name that this child will have for life!
Will he resent you for it or thank you

I like the name. If you ask everyone what they think of a name before the kid is born, they all tend to make faces. But if you keep it to yourself and then introduce your child with the name chosen, everyone likes it. So my advice, If you choose a name and like it a lot, keep it to yourself, because there is always someone who will not like it. Best of luck.
