I paid 1,000.00 for a fur coat.on ebay. I have wore it twice over Christmas and realized it has a 4 in tear in the fur. A big gaping hole in my coat.I contacted the seller and he told me to visit A fur store or send it back to him for repairs (at my expense). When I purchased this coat I was told it was NEW. The seller tells me this could happen to any coat purchased on ebay, because the furs are sold as liquidation items.

Sorry to hear this has happened and I know it must upsetting for you because that is quite a lot of money for a coat.

Did you notice the tear before you wore it or after you wore it? If you contact ebay they may ask you that question. If you found the rip before you wore it then in all fairness the seller should take responsibility.

If you noticed the rip after you wore the coat then they may argue their point of being that you wore the coat and you could have made the rip yourself. (Not that I am saying that you did but that could be their argument.)

Try to resolve this as soon as you can otherwise the longer you put it off then time passes and you can't do much about it.

As a general rule get what the seller says to you in writing that way you can have the evidence to protect yourself if you ever make a purchase from e-bay again.

i don't know specifically what the process is, but it definitely sounds like it would be worth filing a dispute with eBay. if this guy is saying that any of his coats could have rips "because they are liquidation items", he should be stating so in his auction. to tell someone that something is "New" when the seller knows it may be defective is misrepresentation and is against eBay policy. if he charged you $1000 dollars for this coat and did not disclose in the auction that it may have defects, then he should either replace the coat or repair it at HIS expense. or refund your money. contacting eBay will help you with this

i'm interior the united kingdom yet do now not imagine it extremely is a lot diverse - i purchased something of similar fee at present and the transaction went staggering. besides, the first component you're able to desire to do is research the skill shopper's comments status - have a strong study through it and ensure there is not any adverse comments. you're able to desire to have all money such as the postage fee cleared on your economic agency account previous to sending the products. And state to the customer that in the journey that they prefer postal insurance they could desire to pay for that still. Get info of posting even as sending (i.e. your monitoring huge sort) and all must be staggering. tell the customer that if the article is going lacking interior the placed up it truly is there duty to position in money back declare to the service and also you may want to provide them with the info of postage. desire this allows. Check ebay's dispute resolution center, but mediation costs money. The best you can do is get a settlement value for what it costs to fix the coat, in return for leaving positivie feedback.

If you've already left the feedback however you're not in a good position and probably are on your own.

It does not cost much to sew up tears in fur, and they don't show.

Yes, that is life when you buy 'sight unseen' instead of a brick & mortor store. Actually, $1K isn't that expensive for a fur coat . . . As your wore it , it could have torn while you were wearing it so it is unlikely for them to repair it at their expense.
You could do the stitching yourself or take it to a cleaner that does mending.
