Does a SATA2 HDD work with a slower SATA Motherboard ?

HDD = 3Gb/s, Motherboard = 1.5Gb/s
Will HDD work at 1.5Gb/s ?

Nope. The drive itself determines the speed.

Hey Dude,

The SATA standard is backwards compatible. The drive should work at the slower speed.

Yes, but it will operate at the slower speed. i.e. 1.5Gb/s transfer rate.
