Big deal!

Why do we need another tall (not-so-in-this-case) structure to see not even Malaysia but just some parts KL? When we already have the revolving KL tower and KLCC skybridge? Is the view going to be so different and breathtaking on this one? Would tourists come in droves to see this new 'wonder'?

Funny that it seems that what we would like to offer to the foreign tourist is the 'birds-eye' view of KL. KLCC,birds eye, KL tower, bird's eye, now the Eye. Its like we don't want the tourist to see at ground level the actual situation or meet the actual people or experience the actual Malaysian culture.

What's with the pre-occupation with seeing Malaysia from a higher ground?

Once down on the ground that matters. Try hailing a cab that would not rob you, or try to walk on the (non-existent) sidewalks without getting 'purse-snatched', try to get on a handicapped friendly bus, try to get on a practical LRT service, try to get a smile from anyone or a simple "hello, how are you?" from any shop assistant, ticket person, or anyone for that matter.

Try driving your car at the highway without getting high-beamed for driving safe, try finding delicious local food at reasonable price that is not located next to a longkang...

Well, now we know why the pre-occ with bird's eye view. When the tourists finally board the plane home, and as they recall their adventures and eventful experiences in Malaysia to their cousins and friends back home, we Malaysian can be rest assured that at one thing they'd say is, "Well, at least the view is nice"...

Jalan-jalan sama-sama is Malaysians family culture when we talk about travel. The 'eye of Malaysia' is a great place to foster family relationship.

However, the ticket is quit expensive for local people (RM15 for adult --- 12 minute ride). I hope the price can come down soon.

We also need other 'eye' like a Blog to supervise the progress of the 'eye of Malaysia' independently. Hangat-hangat tahi ayam habit of starting a new project should be abolished.

May Visit Malaysia 2007 a Great Success!

it's going to be a good marketing strategy for the Visit Malaysia Year 2007! i say it is good not the best though!

the Ferris Wheel is going to be there only for a year and i hope it going to be a fruitful project.

(p/s: i hope the tourists will see the REAL view of Kuala Lumpur up on the wheel!)
