it took me awhile but I realized something about this "adolesctent section." whenever someone askes an embassing or freaky question about a boy, all the boys agree, and all the girls disagree. and vice versa for girls! can't more boys come on this page? it's so sad seeing girls answer!

P.S. from the other questions i asked before: my name is truman, I am his best friend, i am a boy, I see these horrible answers and i want to get to the bottom of this! dam this gender difference!

Please do not put the avatar into this! another friend of mine (girl I no named lizzy) put it up as a joke one day, i do not use them. and I guess you guys are right about the parenting things. I'm leaving to another section.

I'd say we have a gender problem when you have a female avatar and neuter sounding nickname and have to tell people you are a boy. Maybe some of the ones who answered the way they did were crossing genders, too.

But why should it be odd that the boys agree and the girls agree to disagree with the boys? Adolescence is the time of getting to know your gender identity -- or perhaps shaping your gender identity, given the avatar question above. Aside from questions of homosexuality, it is not unusual for the girls to all see a question one way and the boys all see it the other.

As to how to get more boys to participate, they are out there answering in other departments. I think the "pregnancy & parenting" header puts them off. They may assume, as I did, that this category is mostly for the parents of adolescents more than for the adolescents themselves.

This section is not actually for teen chat. It's for parents to discuss their own kids going through adolescence.

I personally think that Yahoo Answers should be for anybody over the age of 17.

Boys and girls are different. It's natural for them to disagree.

This is actually the parenting section and here for parents not kids..
SEE: Home > Pregnancy & Parenting > Adolescent

it is for parents to come to get help with their kids, not for the kids to come and play..

More girls answer because this is the PREGNANCY and PARENTING section, not the "teen chat" section.
