I will go up into the sky.....

Because I have paid my friends to shoot me out of a cannon when I die..... and through the front window of my worst enemies house,. so they may experience my last vengance upon them in the form of my decrepid remains zinging towards them at mach 7. That should horrify them pretty good.

That has been on my mind since I was 23 and a young infantry officer in combat many times. Mostly that thought came after the bullets stopped and I had time to think. LOL There is no accepted answer because no one has come back and told us. Frankly, I consider it irrevelant to my existance on Earth anyhow. After death, I also lose my free will over my body. I will go into a plain pine box wearing a natural cotton wrap, and that will be covered by dirt. At least, I hope that will happen -- maybe my body will be ripped apart by explosions and be eaten by buzzards (and that would be okay too). Wherever I am then (if I am then) will be at the discretion of the diety in which I believe. (I do.) Or it may be at the discretion of some other diety, because not one of us can prove that ours is the correct and only one or that a diety even exists. We simply 'believe' based upon our lives and what we have learned on this Earth. The tragedy to me is that I must leave all that I love here in this short existance. And that I will no longer be able to thank Him for all that I have at any exact moment day after day. I will no longer feel the sun, wind, rain or snow on my body, I will not hear: a robin sing, a dog bark in the middle of the night, my child ask me for a snack or if 0 K can be produced in a lab, or be able to caress my wife, pet my dogs and cats, feed my birds or fish, or admire the sublime beauty of a grain of sand, the Hope Diamond, a magnificient flower or my wife's lovely body, the vastness of the universe(s) the interior of the atom, or speak or write another word that might positively influence another living human. And my leaving will hurt those whom I love most the worst. We can but live this life in the most morally appropriate way for our times according to our understanding, strive to not hurt others physically or mentally, help all we can in every way we can without denigrating them or their personal customs, and hope that doing such is fulfilling our diety's purpose for our lives. Then we allow Him to make our disposition to the unknown. But I promiss all of you that, if there is an afterlife and I have any free will and abilities, I will negotiate endlessly with this diety to alter this course so that those left behind will no longer suffer and grieve. May you all pass this life and any afterlife in PEACE.

Francis Bacon, an angry british painter in the 50s-80s said, when asked about what he looks foreward to when concerning death, seeing as he didnt believe in god, or any after life, and he said

"I am profoundly optimistic about nothing".

Not in the sense that he theres nothing he looks foreward to, but that he looks foreward to the feeling of nothingness, oblivion, and what not.

I think that the amount of strain on ones soul. After so much extreme pain, and love and beauty our souls are subjected to in life, especially those of us who have lived hard, the feeling of nothing, like when you sleep so deeply, all you feel is a blackness around you and then peace, that it would be a good way for the soul to rest.
Personally, i look foreward to a time when my soul can be at total peace, even if that means after life, i am nothing, i look foreward to it. It makes living a lot better, all the joy we have is more appreciated, and when something causes great pain, you know that someday, you can exists, somehow, without feeling it.

Personally, I would like to be cremated and tossed in a river. I love the idea that my ashes will drift around the globe and end of in random, beautiful places.

As for my spirit, I'm sure it will live on in the minds of my friends, the good deeds that I have done, and the writings that I have left on this earth.

We are energy. We don't die just our bodies which hold and contain our spirit and soul; our personality, will power, memory, imagination etc. live on some say Heaven. or back to the Universe, our bodies stay and decay.

first im going to correct your spelling. its spelled dying not dieing. and as for your question its going to be up to you where you will be when you die. if your a religious person then depending on what religion you practice that is where you will be when you die. if you dont practice any type of religion then i cant really say where you will be.
