Specific keys not working on Keyboard
Here are the steps to troubleshoot this issue:
1. Remove and reinstall the Keyboard Driver from the Device Manager. Install Keyboard/Battery Controller Firmware Updates, if available.
2. If the issue still persists, run a Keyboard Test to confirm the status of the Keyboard. Visit this link for details:
http://www.passmark.com/products/keytest.htm
NOTE: The URL mentioned above will take you to a non HP Website. HP does not control and is not responsible for information outside of the HP Web site.
3. If the Keyboard fails the Test, try removing and reseating the keyboard once. Suggest this only if the Computer is out of warranty and comfortable with that steps. Or else suggest the Customer to contact ASP or replace the keyboard with a new one.
If the Computer is under warranty, arrange a Mail-In Repair Service. Don't suggest Keyboard replacement for warranty Customers, because Keyboard is not an EU Warranty Replacement Part.
Regards,
Prasad.

You need to tell XP that you're using a UK keyboard, go to your control panel and select regional and language options, then select the languages tab, then in the select services and input languages, click details and in the drop down menu select English (United Kingdom), that'll sort it.

its totally a regional settings issue,
if the @ key is located on the right hand side of ur keyboard that mean u need to choose English UK region, and if it is located on the top left side(on the 2 key) the you need to choose the US English region.

a new window will appear
